Very interesting reading, John, which brought back memories of doing soil mechanics as part of my training in civil engineering. Of course, the acid test for me and my colleagues at Beauly Bowling Club is whether we can succeed in putting theory in practice and get our green to an acceptable standard that competitive bowlers, like myself, can be proud of. It will take time, but hopefully we’ll get there.
I will also continue reading more of your very knowledgable articles which raise some interesting conversations with green keepers I occasionally meet at bowling tournaments.
Many thanks and best wishes for the New Year
